Mark took his second Super Series event in a row at London, all but securing the overall title in the process. London is one of the iconic triathlon events in the UK. Over 11,000 athletes race over the two days.
Mark finished 3rd here last year but this years good form focused his attention on the top spot. After a fast swim, 10 athletes exited London docklands together, but it was Mark first on to his bike and on to the 40km bike loop taking in many London sights, including Big Ben and Westminster. The 10 athletes stayed clear of the rest of the field so it came down to a running race.
Mark was the fastest runner on paper but needed to work hard to open a gap. He managed to open a gap 3km into the run and held it all the way to the finish to win the race and secure the British Super Series title (the final event was cancelled in the end).
